Massage Descriptions

SPORTS & INJURY MASSAGE

Sports massage is manual manipulation of the muscles geared specifically toward helping people who have physically demanding lifestyles and or hobbies. This kind of massage considers the impact of certain activities and or injuries on specific joints, muscle groups, tendons, ligaments, and soft tissue groups.

SWEDISH MASSAGE

The techniques used in Swedish massage aims to promote relaxation by releasing muscle tension and relaxing the nervous system. This modality of bodywork is gentler than deep tissue massage and better suited for people interested in relaxation and tension relief.

DEEP TISSUE

Deep tissue massage is primarily used to treat chronic pain and muscle and sports related injuries. Deep tissue targets the deeper layers of your muscles and fascia, breaking up scar tissue and adhesions bringing blood flow to the areas of pain to help rehabilitate tissues, muscles and increasing range of motion.

THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE

Therapeutic Massage Therapy is a style of massage therapy which focuses on getting results vs. Just relaxing. Using this term indicates that the purpose of the massage is to achieve a structural change or therapeutic benefit in the body. It is a style of treatment where your massage therapist mobilizes your soft tissue (muscles, tendons, fascia, etc) to restore normal functional use. You should expect to feel great long after your therapeutic massage session ends, instead of just relaxing for an hour.

Cupping

Cupping is an ancient healing modality used to ease pain, increase circulation, reduce inflammation, and release toxins and much more.... The cups are placed in different areas of the body, inside the cup, a vacuum or suction force pulls skin upward, creating a feel-good tension for a few minutes and then is released.
