Marshall grew up in Spokane, Washington, spending his summers and free time in Santa Barbara before making it his permanent home in 1988. He is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara. After building his career in marketing and product roles within engineering firms, he co-founded a media company with two partners in 2006 and successfully exited the business this past year. Marshall enjoys travel, cooking, baseball, and is always working to sharpen his golf game.

Sarah was raised in Orinda in the East Bay and moved to Santa Barbara in 1990. She completed her radiologic technology program in 1996 and went on to work for many years at Sansum Clinic and Cottage Hospital, specializing in mammography and radiology. Since 2003, she has devoted her time to raising and supporting their family. Sarah enjoys gardening, travel, hiking, and baseball.

Their daughter, Kate, is currently attending the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she balances academics with her passions for surfing, skiing, and running. She loves the outdoors and spending time at the beach whenever she is home in Santa Barbara.

Holden is attending Santa Barbara City College. A car enthusiast and avid golfer, he looks forward to continuing to develop his game and becoming part of LCC.

Merrick is a senior at San Marcos High School and is in the process of selecting a college for the fall. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with friends, hiking, photography, and looking ahead to the next chapter.

As a family, the Mathesons value community, time outdoors, travel, and staying active together. They are proud to call Santa Barbara home.

Paul Heffernan

Associate

Sponsors: Ron Lloyd, Ryan Fell, Dave Dawson, Jim Buttimer

Paul was fortunate to grow up in Santa Barbara, where he spent many years as part of the Junior Golf program and gained exposure to some of the area’s finest golf courses. Among them, La Cumbre Country Club always held a particular allure.

After spending several years in Los Angeles, Paul returned to Santa Barbara and felt drawn to join a country club, though not just any club. La Cumbre had long been at the top of his list. Its general demeanor and easy‑going ambiance strongly appealed to him, and each visit reinforced the sense that La Cumbre is the kind of place where he would one day love to bring his children.

Now living just around the corner from La Cumbre Country Club, Paul feels that the timing is right to join. Having grown up in Santa Barbara, he appreciates the concept of quiet luxury, something that doesn’t need to be loud or flashy, but instead remains refined and discreet. La Cumbre Country Club embodies that aesthetic.

Paul believes he would be a strong fit for the Club given the number of members he already knows, along with the opportunity - being on the younger side - to contribute to the Club’s continued growth for many years to come. He looks forward to the opportunity and sincerely appreciates the consideration.

Lindsey Branca & Mike Grosshandler

Social Clubhouse

Sponsors: Christina DiPaola, Jane Lodas, Lisa Solana, Robert Forouzandeh, Lauren Katz

Mike and Lindsey both grew up in New Jersey and, after college, relocated to New York City. In New York, Lindsey obtained her MBA from Columbia Business School while Mike worked in video post-production. After Lindsey completed her degree, they purchased and renovated a brownstone in Brooklyn and discovered a deep interest in restoring historic homes. In 2015, they both left their jobs to focus exclusively on real estate development. Over the following years, they restored and renovated multiple brownstones throughout Brooklyn, as well as a 1728 Cape house in Connecticut.

In 2019, they welcomed their first child, their son Johnny (J.J.). Two years later, they learned they were expecting their second child and decided it was best for their family to relocate to the West Coast, where they could spend more time outdoors. In June 2022, they moved to Santa Monica, California, and began work on a ground-up development project in Beverly Hills. They welcomed their daughter, Sloane, in August of that year and continued to work on projects throughout Los Angeles.

After several years in Santa Monica, they realized they missed the sense of community they had enjoyed on the East Coast, wanted to spend more time outdoors, and desired to return to renovating historic homes rather than focusing on ground-up developments. After visiting Santa Barbara a few times, they quickly fell in love with the people, community, and lifestyle. In 2025, they decided to relocate (again) to Hope Ranch. They now live on Carosam Road in the original clubhouse—the Potter Country Club—and are in the process of fully restoring the home to its original condition, with a few thoughtful updates.

They love living in Hope Ranch and Santa Barbara. Mike is an avid surfer, and Lindsey grew up as a competitive equestrian. They have gotten to know their neighbors and are deeply grateful for the warm and welcoming community. Their son, J.J., currently attends Crane Country Day School in Montecito, where they have found an exceptional group of parents who have quickly become close friends (including the DiPaola family). They look forward to spending summer days walking to La Cumbre Country Club, where they can enjoy time with their children swimming, snacking, and building friendships with other members.

Lambert Jamely – Significant Other of Elizabeth Ochsner

Social Clubhouse

Lambert originates from a small and strikingly beautiful town in Kentucky known as Bardstown, still home to the family‑run bourbon distillery, Willett - an origin that feels, in retrospect, a world away from the famed California wines he has so often enjoyed. After completing undergraduate studies, where he was part of an NCAA Division I men’s national basketball championship team, and pursuing graduate education in Switzerland, Lambert went on to live and work as a global marketing and technology executive.

His career has taken him to Geneva, New York City, San Francisco, Bainbridge Island, and most recently Seattle, with leadership roles spanning companies as diverse as Silicon Graphics, Visio, Cranium, Microsoft, and DocuSign, as well as organizations across the finance and telecommunications sectors. Along the way, his work has included dozens of trips to Tokyo and extensive time in both major European capitals and their equally beautiful lesser‑known cities.

More than a decade ago, Lambert was recruited to join the executive team at Acker, the world’s largest fine and rare wine auction company, where he currently serves as Managing Director. Santa Barbara and Montecito have recently become home, and all that he continues to experience there has become a beautiful and welcome addition to his life.
