Ed Wachtel & Jan Eakins
Regular
Sponsors: Winn Booth, Maurice Singer, Phil McCowan, Matt Collier
Ed has been an active golfing member in good standing at Riviera Country Club for nearly 40 years and served on its Board of Governors for several terms. He recently resigned his RCC membership after he and his wife lost their home of more than 45 years in the Pacific Palisades fire and relocated to Santa Barbara.
He and his wife were also non-resident golf members at Army Navy Country Club in Arlington and Fairfax, Virginia, for over 25 years. Their ANCC membership was terminated after his wife retired in 2022, as they determined they would not be returning to the Washington, D.C. area and did not foresee being able to utilize the club in the future.
RCC was a golf club, and ANCC was a country club. He greatly enjoyed being an active member of a country club community. He and his wife, Jan, intend to be fully active members at La Cumbre Country Club, enjoying all the benefits of membership. Every member they met at LCC, whether a golf or social member, has been welcoming and gracious. They look forward to enjoying many new friendships and to contributing to the ongoing success of the club.
Dr. Julian & Dahianna Becher
Regular
Sponsors: Joel Baer, Justin Anderson, James Matthews, EJ Fisher
Originally from Vancouver, Canada, and New Jersey respectively, Julian and Dahianna met in New York City before moving to Santa Barbara a decade ago to begin their life together. Today, they’re happily outnumbered by their three children, two dogs, and a flock of chickens. Life is busy, but they wouldn’t have it any other way.
Both are well-traveled and share a passion for good food and new adventures. They strive to maintain a healthy work–life balance, making time for their careers as well as the things they love most—family, friends, and fitness. With naturally competitive spirits, they enjoy challenging themselves in new ways, both athletically and personally.
Professionally, Dahianna works full-time as an IT Project Manager for Cottage Health and, perhaps even more impressively, serves as the project manager of their family—a role that’s both overworked and underappreciated. Julian owns a primary care practice in downtown Santa Barbara called Riviera Health Group, with a second location opening soon in Montecito.
Brad & Kimberly AuBuchon
Regular
Sponsors: Tom Adams, Chris Bellamy, Sean Hecht, Ryan Fell
Brad AuBuchon spent the first forty years of his life in Chicago before moving to Santa Barbara five years ago, a change he deeply appreciates, especially when golfing year-round. A former high school golfer, he is rediscovering his game while sharing his passion with his three sons, whom he has taught at local courses in both Illinois and Santa Barbara. His oldest holds an SCGA Junior membership, and all three boys now enjoy the sport as much as he does.
Brad has coached fourteen seasons of youth sports in Santa Barbara, focusing on building confidence, leadership, and positivity in young athletes. His family is active in community service through Boys Team Charity, the Santa Barbara Rescue Mission, and the Santa Barbara Bucket Brigade, while his wife, Kim, has chaired multiple school fundraising auctions.
Drawn to La Cumbre Country Club for its challenge, beauty, and strong sense of community, Brad and his family look forward to becoming part of a club where many of their friends already belong and where they have consistently felt welcomed.
